TopSkills - Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual Digital | The FlightSim Store: Books/Mags/Charts - Books & Guides

LEARN ABOUT TRULY REALISTIC FLIGHT SIMMING

Make your simulated flights as realistic as possible by following the same methods real airline, military and general-aviation pilots follow. Your Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual explains it all in one compact book.

Understanding Pilot Certifications and Ratings
Every real-world pilot must have a certification and a rating to fly an airplane. Do you know which rating a real-world pilot would need for the type of flight simming you like to do? Do you know what knowledge a real-world pilot must demonstrate to get that rating? Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual explains it concisely.

Knowing About Airports
Airports are much simpler and easier when you know how they are laid out, what their parts are called and what you do in certain areas. Can you imagine a pilot knowing how to fly around the skies but not knowing how to use an airport? It's a silly thought, isn't it? But flight-simulation program manuals overlook this fundamental aspect of aviation. That's why Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual devotes an entire chapter to airports. You will learn every major part of typical airports and their runways, including correct names, so you can use them as real pilots use real airports.

Knowing About Airport Markings, Signs, and Lights
This all-new chapter tells about numerous markings, signs, and lights that guide pilots around their airports. Which taxiway are you on? Which taxiway do you need to follow to get to your runway. Which runway is that ahead of you? It's all explained clearly with easy-to-follow diagrams and explanatory text right next to them. Nothing can be easier than this!

Distinguishing Airspaces From One Another
You will learn how airspaces are sectioned according to traffic type and volume. You will also learn where pilots are allowed to fly, are restricted and are prohibited. And you will learn the rules and procedures used in these airspaces. These airspaces and airways are fully described and depicted for you so you can fly as realistically as possible.

Understanding the World of Air Traffic Control
Most air traffic is conducted in controlled airspaces, so for the most realistic flight simulation, you need to know something about air traffic control. From Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual, you will learn about flight service stations, airport control towers, ground control, departure and approach control, air route traffic centers, automated aviation information services and other ATC services.

Knowing About Pilot Weather Services
Today's flight-sim programs are getting better and better about simulating weather realistically. Do you know where real-world pilots get their weather information? Do you know what weather information real-world pilots are required to have? And do you know the flight-sim equivalent of real-world aviation weather services? Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual explains it all.

Flying According to Official Flight Rules
Flight rules enable pilots to fly as simply as possible when weather is clear and when it obscured. From Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual, you will learn the same rules that real world pilots use when flying visually and/or on instruments.

Knowing What Aviation Lights Are Telling You
Learn what airports, runway approaches, obstructions and aircraft are communicating from this all new chapter of Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual.

Understanding Official Aviation Abbreviations
Aviation is overwhelmed with abbreviations and acronyms. Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual explains the major aviation abbreviations and acronyms relevant to flight simulation so you will know what real-world pilots are talking about.

Converting With Flight-Sim Formulas
Aviation and flight simulation use many formulas for converting various measurements from one method to another. Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual explains the formulas for converting British Imperial to Metric and vice versa. You will learn the accurate formulas for converting altitude, distance, speed, temperature, pressure and other important aviation measurements.

Finding Information Through an Index
A complete index helps you find information quickly so you can use Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual as a handy reference manual right at your computer. Many official aviation manuals lack this important tool.

Find Needed Information Quickly and Easily
Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual is organised and laid out for your easiest use. Information is divided into relevant chapters, and chapters are organised into easy-to-follow sections. Headings and captions help you find information quickly. It's fully indexed for quick reference.

Clearly Written and Easy to Use
Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual is written by expert flight simmers and professional aviators, then published by an experienced training enterprise to help you learn by reading and doing. Policies, procedures and practices used by professional real-world pilots are explained in straight-forward, easy-to-follow English. Visual aids help you grasp the principles, and easy-to-follow exercises help you apply the concepts and methods for experience and learning.

Grasp and Remember Concepts Quickly and Easily
Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual has plenty of orderly graphical aids so you can grasp aviation concepts right away and remember them indefinitely.

For All Flight Simmers
The flight principles, procedures and practices explained in Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual apply to all aircraft -- general aviation, commercial or military -- as well as all flight-sim games. It's comparable to flight training manuals that apply to all aircraft, including the popular and special ones. We can't write one book that explains every specific aircraft, and we can't write a separate book for each airplane, either. So we explain the most common general-aviation aircraft in this book, and readers can easily adapt our explanations to the specific aircraft they're flying.

For Anywhere
Whether you are in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Australia, Europe or the Pacific Rim, Flight Sim Pilot's Information Manual is for you. It is based on real aviation rules, principles, procedures and practices that general-aviation pilots use around the world.

For PC Flight Simulation Exclusively
Flight-Sim Pilot's Information Manual is written exclusively for flight-simulation pilots. It's based on real aviation textbooks and manuals -- with the relevant material emphasized and the irrelevant material omitted. You will not need to flip through pages and pages of technical aviation texts, because that work has been done for you. You won't have to skip over irrelevant materials, because they have been omitted for you.

TopSkills - Instrument Flying for Flight Sim Pilots Digital | The FlightSim Store: Books/Mags/Charts - Books & Guides

COMPLETE DESCRIPTION AND EXPLANATION IN ONE BOOK!

Instrument Flying for Flight-Sim Pilots explains how you can find your way around without seeing anything out your windows! Start by recognizing what instrument flying is and isn't. Learn about instrument flight requirements and restrictions. Learn how to use your aviation instruments. See how to use instrument flight charts and plans. Plan your flights as required. Fly en route and in holding patterns totally on your instruments. Approach for landing without seeing anything on the ground.

Learn About Correct Instrument Flying
Make your instrument flights as realistic as possible by using the same methods used by real airline, military and instrument-certified general-aviation pilots. Your Instrument Flying for Flight-Simulation Pilots explains it all in one compact book.

Knowing What Instrument Flight Is and Is Not
Instrument Flying for Flight-Simulation Pilots clarifies the exact nature of instrument flight and clears up misunderstandings about this subject. Most people call it "IFR," which stands for "Instrument Flight Rules." But instrument flight extends beyond the prescribed rules into procedures, practices, techniques, charts and navigation. You will learn exactly what constitutes instrument flight and what does not. From this, you will be able to determine whether you need to fly on instruments or abide by instrument flight rules. It's clearly laid out for you.

Adhering to Requirements and Restrictions
You will learn the requirements and restrictions that pilots must follow when flying on instruments so you will understand them fully. These requirements apply to visibility, airspaces and aircraft. Additionally, certain restrictions tell pilots what they cannot and must not do when they fly IFR. Instrument Flying for Flight-Simulation Pilots also provides you an easy-to-use checklist for determining when to fly on instruments.

Using Aviation Instruments
Instrument Flying for Flight-Simulation Pilots explains the use of relevant cockpit instruments so you can build your instrument-flying proficiency. After all, you will have no other source of information telling you your position, heading, altitude and other crucial information when you are flying in clouds, fog and other visibility-restricting conditions. Instrument Flying for Flight-Simulation Pilots shows you the professional method for scanning your instruments for maximum effectiveness.

Using Charts and Flight Plans
Learn the major types of instrument flight charts -- departure, en route and approach -- so you can lay out your instrument flights as real pilots do. Understand the types and major features of flight plans that instrument pilots use so you can plan and control your instrument flights professionally. Without these crucial documents for every instrument flight, you'll fly around aimlessly -- having no way to know how to get where you need to go. It's all explained and depicted in your Instrument Flying for Flight-Sim Pilots.

Planning, Taking Off and Departing
Plan your routes, check your aircraft, use take-off minimums, climb out on instruments and depart the airport's airspace -- the way real instrument-rated pilots do. Learn how to trust your instruments, because you will have no visual information sources. It's all clearly explained.

Flying Enroute and Holding
After leaving the airport's airspace, you will fly en route to your destination without seeing much of anything out your windows. From Instrument Flying for Flight-Sim Pilots, you will learn how to select and fly at optimum altitudes, use the best airspeeds for climbing, follow air traffic routes, perform instrument flight maneuvers and intercept navaid radials and bearings -- exactly as instrument-rated pilots do. Moreover, you will learn how to enter and fly in established holding patterns. It's all clearly explained in your Instrument Flying for Flight-Sim Pilots.

Approaching for Landings
When you arrive at your destination airport, you will align your aircraft for landing without seeing any ground references at all. Instrument Flying for Flight-Simulation Pilots explains how to follow the prescribed instrument approach procedures for any airport that provides them. You will learn about initial approach fixes, procedure turns, decision heights, missed approach points, missed approach procedures and much more. You will also learn about the many types of instrument approaches, including NDB, VOR, GPS and Circling.

IRIS - Aviator Series - Venture MG.1 [FSX] | The FlightSim Store: Download Software - FSX Add-Ons - Aircraft - Light Aircraft

This product is an artistic representation of the subject matter, which is inspired by the Grob 109B.
IRIS Flight Simulation Software does not endorse and is not endorsed by, or otherwise linked to, Grob-Werke GmbH.

The Venture MG.1 is the first of a series of aircraft focusing on the skill of soaring and has been an enjoyable experience for the team from design & development, through to release.

Part of the joy of creating aircraft ourselves is that sometimes we have the opportunity to create our own interpretation of a product, in this instance, it allows us to add items such as a GPS and autopilot options to a modern interpretation of the 109B.

We have however included a fictional Air Training Corps artwork (ZH372) which we hope will satisfy some of the air cadets out there! In addition, we’re packing up a full paint-kit which includes all the art templates so that you can create your own colour scheme should you choose to do so.

Above all, we hope that this product brings you plenty of soaring fun…just try to steer clear of the mountains!

    Features:
    • A superb soundset from IRIS AudioworX with 360 degree sound panning customized specifically for FSX.
    • All new 3D gauges with silky smooth performance.
    • Two visual models with or without wheel covers.
    • A superb flight model for the light handling and excellent soaring characteristics of the Venture MG.1 aircraft.
    • A wide variety of paint schemes and a full paintkit allows repainting by users.
    • A selection of textures in various compression ratios and sizes for users on lower end systems.
    • Inclusion of GPS and autopilot options to add a modern interpretation of the Grob 109B
    • Fictional Air Training Corps artwork (ZH372) which we hope will satisfy some of the air cadets
    • The Venture MG.1 is based on the Civilian Grob 109B
    Simulator requirements
Microsoft Flight Simulator X patched to SP2 standard
OR Microsoft Flight Simulator X with the Acceleration Expansion pack installed
OR Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold edition.

Whether it's low and slow or fast and high, pristine, calm days or thunderous gusty nights, you can customize your experience to your exact liking and find others that share your passion. You don't have to change anything about how you fly, but you'll want to.

A massive multiplayer environment exclusively for pilots (sim or otherwise). A world based around flying competency, with careers, reputation and economy with a built-in risk-reward system: cheaper aircraft are less risky and more forgiving than large planes. Compete with others on skill, comfort, experience or earnings, or just join the camaraderie and banter. How you fly matters, however, fly wherever, whatever, whenever! Inclusive of all types of "simmers": GA, business/corporate, commuter/regional, airline, low and slow or high and fast.

The offline client observes, records and catalogs all flights, including significant weather conditions. Latitude offers unbiased feedback for every flight, specifically tailored to experience level and aircraft model. Evaluation of both piloting skill and passenger/cargo comfort for a full comprehensive analysis. Automatic detection and detailed scoring of all flight phases, without any need for configuration. Perception based judging and scoring to mimic how a person would rate your flight, complete charting of entire flight; individually zoom-able and adjustable.

Directly integrated within REX Latitude is the online Portal, connecting you to a multiplayer environment which creates a whole new simming world. It's a great place to meet like minded virtual pilots, measure your skills against them, build a career, earn a reputation and make money. The Portal is a great way to track your progress as you become a better pilot with a permanent record of when, where and how you flew. It is encouraged that you participate – not only for the fun but also for the real-world experience you're sure to gain.

August 2005 saw the release of what is now widely regarded as one of the benchmarks for Flight Simulator Aerobatic aircraft in the form of the Long Island Classics Christen Eagle for FS2004.

Orbx Downloads Are Being Updated To Dual FSX / Prepar3D
As you may or may not know, over the coming weeks we will be in the process of updating most of the older Orbx product installers to make them compatible with Prepar3D. As Orbx supplies the installers to us, we will be wrapping and then uploading them to our content servers. Several products have already been updated and email notifications have been sent out to those customers who subscribe to each particular product. It's fantastic to see Orbx taking such an interest in this fantastic new platform.
    Latest Updates: Lancair IV-P.

    Orbx - Lancair IV-P | The FlightSim Store: Download Software - Prepar3D Add-Ons - Aircraft - Light Aircraft

The Formula One of GA Aircraft!

"I can say without reservation that this is one of the nicest GA planes I've ever had the privilege to pilot." - Bill Womack

The debut aircraft from Orbx is the Lancair IV-P, a kit-build aircraft unlike any other before it. The ultra-sleek lines are formed from composite materials and allow it to slice through the air and into the FL's whilst offering a fully pressurized cabin. Orbx has spent over two years on this project and it shows - from the exact modeling of the curvacious lines, to the faithful reproduction of the cockpit and instruments, everything about the Lancair shouts quality and precision. To ensure that the simulated aircraft behaves precisely like the real one, we've flown many hours in our donor aircraft in Australia and Switzerland for both handling checkflights and 32-bit HD audio captures. Lead modeler and developer Jared Charalambous actually services VH-LLW so it's as close to reality as you can get. With flight modeling by Alexander Metzger (formerly DA), repaints by the Orbx team and Tim Fuchs from REX, this is one GA aircraft you'll want in your hangar!
    • Superbly detailed modeling in 3DSMax
    • Flight dynamics by Alexander Metzger
    • A repaint by Tim Fuchs from REX
    • SD and HD texture options via control panel
    • Selectable flight dynamics via control panel
    • Fully animated and HD 3D virtual cockpit
    • Full support for Reality-XP instruments
    • Includes Orbx Garmin GNS instruments also!
    • Full SD and HD paint kit included
    • 43-page POH and 100-page User Manual
    • Many repaints and cockpit configurations
    • The ultimate GA aircraft!
