  • C2, White Scheme (ZE704)
As the aircraft passed through Marshall Aerospace they adopted this gloss white scheme. This scheme was in use from the late 1980s until 2007.
  • C2A, White Scheme (ZE704)
This aircraft has been modified with the Boeing Large Aircraft Infrared Counter Measures system.
  • KC1, White Scheme (ZD953)
This aircraft, originally purchased from British Airways, is used both in cargo and air-to-air refuelling roles.
  • K1, Grey Scheme (ZD951)
This grey scheme was adopted in 2005 and remains in use today. This aircraft is one of those purchased from British Airways.
  • K1, Low Viz Scheme (ZD949)
This low-visibility scheme was adopted in 2005 and remains in use today. ZD949 was sent to Marshall Aerospace’s facility at Cambridge airport in 2007 to be the first RAF TriStar to be upgraded with new avionics. Following completion of the upgrade in 2010 the announcement was made that the TriStar would be retired in 2013 and therefore the upgrade program was cancelled. This decision resulted in ZD949 being reduced to spares.

TSS - Boeing 777 RR Trent-800 HD Sound Pack for FSX | The FlightSim Store: Download Software - FSX Add-Ons - Sound Sets

Turbine Sound Studios proudly presents the HD version of the Boeing 777 Rolls Royce Trent-800 sound pack for FSX recorded in HD High definition.

This sound package includes the following:
  • External engine sounds
  • Internal engine sounds
  • Gear sounds
  • Wind sounds
  • Cockpit environment sound
  • Rolling and rumble cabin sound
  • Full 360 degrees soundcones
These sounds where recorded from Singapore Airlines B777's

Rolls-Royce Trent 800

At the same time, Boeing was investigating an enlarged development of its 767 model dubbed the 767X, for which Rolls-Royce proposed the Trent 760. By 1990 Boeing abandoned its planned 767X and instead decided to launch a new, larger aircraft family designated 777 with a thrust requirement of 80,000 lbf (360 kN) or more. The Trent 700's 2.47 m (97 in) diameter fan would not be big enough to meet this requirement, so Rolls proposed a new version with a 2.80 m (110 in) fan diameter, designated Trent 800.

Testing of the Trent 800 began in September 1993, and certification was achieved in January 1995.The first Boeing 777 with Trent 800 engines flew in May 1995, and entered service with Cathay Pacific in April 1996.

Initially Rolls-Royce had difficulty selling the engine; British Airways, traditionally a Rolls-Royce customer, submitted a large order for the competing General Electric GE90 engine. The breakthrough came when it won orders from Singapore Airlines, previously a staunch Pratt & Whitney customer, for its 34 Boeing 777s. The Trent 800 has a 41% share of the engine market on the 777 variants for which it is available

Lionheart - Fairchild 24 Series | The FlightSim Store: Download Software - Prepar3D Add-Ons - Aircraft - Light Aircraft

New from the Studios of Lionheart Creations Ltd. comes the American Classic Fairchild 24 Series.

Constructeur Review The Making of the Fairchild 24 Series

Born in 1932, the 'Model 24' was a radical move by Fairchild to gain a strong hold on the Private Pilot sector. With an interior designed by famous American Industrial and Automobile Designer Raymond Loewy, the 24 featured things like roll down windows, automotive door knobs and cranks, comfortable seats, and many other automotive-style features, making the 24 one of the most classiest and comfortable planes to buy back then.

Another feature of the 24 Series was the rugged, massive landing gear. Looking something more like a Fiesler Storch, the landing gear enabled one to land in terrain locations without runways, making the 24's uses broader. During World War II, the 'Argus Edition' was created for military duty and many were sent to Europe. In the United States, the Argus saw duty as coastal spotters, keeping a lookout for Japanese and German submarines. The Argus could carry two 100 pound bombs and it was successful in more then several confrontations with German U-Boots.

The airframe of the Fairchild was welded steel tubing in the fuselage area with wooden runners which created the shape top and bottom, wooden shaped leading edges of the tail sections, and wooden framed wings and a high rated wood spruce spar beam in the wing section as well. The airframe was covered with cloth/Dacron throughout and nicely finished.Today, Fairchild 24's can be seen at many Fly-In events, usually having been totally restored down to the bare frame.

The Fairchild Owners are unique, like this aircraft, having a bond with their planes. They are truly an American Classic of the Golden Age of Aviation in America. This aircraft package features everything from stock, early, vintage production planes, to the WWII Argus Series, to restored impeccable, waxed versions with no oil or chips on them, to very rough lived Bush plane examples. Each plane has custom interior schemes, variations that even include panel paint scheme customizations. This is a massive package with over 36 versions and variations. Another neat feature is that you can turn off / detach the wheel skirts and the suspension of the landing gear is converted to the bush plane version. We also have float planes in both the Ranger and Warner editions.

I hope you like flying and classic planes, because if you do, this is for you!

Flysimware - Fairchild PT-26 Cornell FSX/P3D | The FlightSim Store: Download Software - Prepar3D Add-Ons - Aircraft - Historic

The Fairchild PT-26 was an American monoplane primary trainer aircraft that served with the United States Army Air Force, RAF and RCAF during World War II. It was a contemporary of the kaydet biplane trainer and was used by the USAAF during Primary Flying Training and was used to train new pilots before passing them on to the more agile kaydet. The final variant was the PT-26 which used the Ranger L-440-7 engine.

Our high poly model is a Fairchild PT-26 Cornell which has been recently restored and ready for it's first test flight. We included a Hobbs engine hours gauge that tracks your engine time and this used gauge starts at 19,100 hours. You can teach your friends to fly, take a scenic flight or fly this one of a kind aircraft on an amazing low river run. Minus a few changes the panel is based off the original configuration. We moved the wet compass up to the canopy and moved the RPM gauge to it's old location replacing it's location with a custom dual clock for tracking your flight time. Our custom wobble pump lever allows you to add pressure to the fuel pressure gauge and in return you get real world pressure levels for an accurate start up procedure. The PT-26 has 2 fuel gauges which are located on the top of each wing which includes virtual cockpit views for both fuel gauges and the GTX330 transponder. Enjoy our multiplayer GTX330 wich gives you real world features while communicating with vatsim and other multiplayer sessions. With help from a veteran commercial pilot who restored a real world PT-26, you can expect high accuracy throughout the entire project. Time to make more room in your private hanger for this amazing aircraft which will bring you many years of enjoyment and an appreciation for vintage aircraft.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Traffic Control Centre (TCC) lets you easily customise and expand your AI traffic.

Traffic Editor has improved flight planning and greatly enhanced traffic generation features to allow you to easily create new traffic, whether randomly generated traffic or detailed scheduled connections as in the real world. The Editor lets you set up one-way flights and compile flights by region.

Correct identifiers - all flights use their correct aircraft/airline identifiers and tail numbers according to the country of origin.

ChronoTraffic - AI time period selection feature. Every Traffic 360 AI aircraft and flight can now be set to be only operational during a user-defined period of years. In the traffic database you can easily select the year or range of years in which you want the aircraft to appear. This flexible feature means that you can easily see older aircraft such as Concorde or out-of-service airlines, or up-to-date traffic or even future aircraft chosen from the included Traffic 360 aircraft fleets.

Flyable aircraft tool – allows you to make the Traffic 360 AI aircraft flyable (generic cockpits and flight models employed).

Driveable Follow Me car and pushback truck - you can explore the airport from the ground.

Spotty, the plane spotting feature, and the unique Control Tower view let you watch aircraft as they are land, taxi, park and depart as well as listen to their ATC communications.

Control Tower comes in four different sizes from 'Airfield' to 'Large International Airport' and can be placed anywhere in the world. A 2D panel and a complete Tower interior provide everything you need to observe all AI traffic in your area:
  • Traffic Radar provides information on each AI aircraft in range, including vertical speed and current altitude, bearing and distance, identification and true airspeed
  • Multifunction display with geographical information, clock showing UTC and local time, weather display including wind speed and direction, pressure readings for QNH and QFE as well as temperature, a COMMS panel, controls to move the view with a simple mouse-click, heading indicators and a light switch for night lighting
Custom sounds to replace the generic FSX default sounds - a total of 29 different sound sets, recorded from real aircraft, provide more variety and more realism thanks to special take-off, landing, thrust reverser sounds and many more. A complete list of the Traffic 360 aircraft and liveries is available as a PDF - click here to download.

Traffic 360 includes many new and improved custom aircraft models featuring advanced and improved animations, providing high quality models while reducing the impact on frame rates.

Aircraft take advantage of the advanced FSX animation features at airports such as baggage handlers, docking jetways and pushback tugs. These service vehicles will service AI aircraft when they park and, when they are ready to depart, the pushback tug will push the aircraft back off the stand (only operates at stands enabled for this feature by default in FSX).

AI aircraft have numerous detailed animations including animated control surfaces, landing gear, propellers, control surfaces, jet engine fans and doors.

All aircraft are painted in real-world airline liveries, with updated and improved reflective textures and real aircraft registrations. 500 liveries are included for 123 different civil and military aircraft types, giving a total of more than 2,400 aircraft variants.

Just Flight - Pacific Combat Pilot | The FlightSim Store: Boxed Software - FSX Add-Ons - Aircraft - Historic

Pacific Combat Pilot brings together the two legendary carrier-based fighters of WWII’s Pacific Theater in one superbly detailed package of 21 aircraft. Also included are the MkI and MkIV variants of the Martlet – the British version of the Wildcat – in eight different liveries!

From the fully functional virtual cockpits and accurate flight characteristics to carrier operations and animations, the F4F-3 and F4F-4 Wildcats and the Mitsubishi A6M2-21 Zero are expertly modelled. Clear the decks and get ready to experience the power of both these iconic warbirds in FSX!

WILDCAT

No US aircraft other than the Wildcat fought throughout WWII, all the way from 1940 to VJ Day in 1945; the Wildcat was there when the US Navy and Marines entered the Pacific theatre and when the atomic bomb was dropped to put an end to hostilities.

The Wildcat could well be considered the US Navy’s 'Spitfire', performing heroically against considerable odds in often difficult conditions in the defining battles of the Coral Sea and Midway and later in the dark days of the early Pacific islands campaigns at infamous locations such as Guadalcanal and Rabaul.

It is a testament to the success of this rugged little fighter that the design remained basically unchanged until the end of the war, and the last Wildcat to roll off the General Motors production lines in 1945.

MARTLET

The Martlet was the name given by the British forces to the F4F-3 and F4F-4-based Wildcat aircraft which were supplied to Britain from the earliest days of WWII - eight Martlet aircraft are included in this package as bonus content!

In 1940, two years before the US entered the fray, a Royal Navy Martlet pilot scored the first aerial victory by an F4F in WWII, off the Orkneys in Scotland. The British ordered the F4F-3 for its Royal Navy as did France before the country fell in the early years of the War. In fact the F3s initially bound for France were diverted when the country was overrun and were eventually delivered to the Royal Navy.

Apart from service in the North Atlantic, British Martlets also saw combat in warmer climes such as Malta and North Africa and, of course, alongside their American counterparts throughout the Pacific.

Grumman Martlet MkI

The British Martlet MkI was basically identical to the US F4F-3, other than that it was equipped with a Wright Cyclone 9-cylinder engine and a Hamilton constant speed propeller. This required a slightly shorter cowling over the power plant and the aircraft had no cowl flaps. An extra strengthening bar was fitted to the windscreen quarterlights. The Martlet performed much like the F4F-3 from which it was derived.

Grumman Martlet Mk IV

The Martlet MkIV was largely identical to the US F4F-4, other than that it was equipped with a Wright Cyclone 9-cylinder engine and a Hamilton constant speed three-blade propeller. Two long cowl flaps were installed in the upper half of the engine cowling. Performance figures and specifications can be considered either identical or very close to those of the F4F-4.

ZERO

The A6M2-21 model is the Zero model one produced in the greatest numbers; over 1,500 aircraft had been built by the end of World War II. The A6M2-21 took part in the surprise attacks on Pearl Harbor as a support fighter to the bombers and was involved in many of the later campaigns in the Pacific theatre before being replaced by later variants. The design had cut its combat teeth in China before the outbreak of the war in the Pacific.

The A6M2-21 had small folding wing tips for carrier use and could carry a drop-tank or a bomb for ground attack duty.

In the early stages of the war in the Pacific, the Zero outmanoeuvred the majority of allied fighters, including the venerable Spitfire, until new combat tactics were introduced. Engaging a Zero in a twisting turning dogfight meant certain failure; the trick was to gain the height advantage and dive on the enemy at high speed in a firing pass.

Opponents such as the Grumman F-4F Wildcat were built to be rugged absorbers of punishment and protected their pilots with armour plating. US pilots got the upper hand in due course and the Zero would never again have the upper hand.

AIRCRAFT IN THIS SIMULATION

Wildcat F4F-3

F-15 – flown by Lieutenant Commander Edward ‘Butch’ O'Hare, perhaps the Wildcat’s most famous ace.

3-F-9 – belonged to Fighting Squadron VF-3 flying from USS Saratoga in the Spring of 1941.

MF-1 – this was the mount of Major Robert E. Galer, who totalled 13 confirmed victories and was a recipient of the Medal of Honor.

41-F-4 – before the USA entered WWII, US Navy aircraft were painted in an array of different bright colours contrasting with silver fuselages. It was not until Pearl Harbor that the need for more subdued camouflage colours became clear!

Wildcat F4F-4

‘White 18' - flown by AP/1c Howard Stanton Packard of VF-6, USS Enterprise, August 1942.

BuNo 5093 / ‘White 23’ - flown by Lt Cdr John S Thach, Officer Commanding VF-3, USS Yorktown, Midway, 4 June 1942.

22-F-1 - displays the later tri-colour scheme adopted by all US naval aircraft in the Pacific Campaign.

‘Black 53’ – flown by Capt. Joseph J Foss at Guadalcanal in early 1943.

Martlet Mk I

EJ569 ‘F’ – flown by Sub Lt Parke, RNVR, when he, along with another Martlet pilot, scored the very first aerial victory for the F4F series in WWII.

‘French 2’ – an F4F-3 ordered by the French AeroNavale, prior to the fall of France in 1940.

BJ562 – an 804 Squadron machine.

S7-L BJ561 – another 804 Squadron machine.

Martlet Mk IV

‘That Old Thing’ – nose art of any type was usually strictly frowned upon by Naval ‘brass’ but this Martlet flew from HMS Tracker during Operation Overlord, D-Day and the invasion of France in June 1944.

‘9Z’ – an 893 Squadron machine at the time of Operation Torch, the joint allied invasion of French North Africa.

FN114 – this aircraft was on strength with 893 Squadron Royal Navy on HMS Formidable in the Western Mediterranean in early 1943. Martlets served with distinction throughout the theatre and also in the deserts of North Africa.

FN148 – based on Malta, where 893 Squadron served in 1943.

A6M2 Zero

12th Combined Kokutai, China 1940-1941

In the latest instalment of Bohemia Interactive’s line-up of immersive games, the player can enjoy several distinct gamplay modes, including:
  • Free Flight
  • Career Mode
  • Challenges
  • Time Trials
  • Editor
Find out a little more about each game mode below!

Free Flight

Pick a chopper, and go! This easy-access mode gives players looking to get straight into the cockpit the chance to do just that.

Choose from the entire selection of choppers included with Take On Helicopters, and you’ll be placed in our Seattle terrain, all set to go!

Career Mode

Harry Larkin was a well known name in the Seattle aviation sector; his passing came as a bitter loss to many, and a business opportunity for a few. Harry left behind the business he spent his whole life building, and his two sons, Joe and Tom.

Built up over decades, Larkin Aviation has fallen on tough times – now only weeks away from closure. The Larkin brothers face an uncertain future. Together, they must take on contracts and competitors; together, they take on helicopters!

Challenges

Challenges offer the player quick and varied helicopter gameplay, with procedurally generated goals, meaning each mission is a little different each time you play it!

Time Trials

Time trials are a great way to see the most interesting parts of our terrains, as you race through the air trying to beat the clock!

Editor

Our powerful 2D editor, in combination with a huge range of vehicles and characters – and the ability to create and import your own – opens up a near-limitless potential for making custom mission, campaigns and more!

Helicopters
Take On Helicopters introduces the player to three distinct classes of helicopter: light, medium and heavy. Each has a flight model suited to the characteristics of its class, meaning – aside from any other external factors (like wind or the weight of your cargo) – each helicopter itself can be tuned to feel distinctive.

Within each class, we’ve got multiple variants – including (at least) one armed set up – that are designed to perform different roles. Equipment such as winches, sling-lines, fast rope hooks, external cameras, and so on, help to generate a wide range of things to do across a number of different helicopters!

Environments

Take On Helicopters features two huge terrains: Seattle, a 60x60km chunk of North America, and South Asia, a 120x120km terrain populated with vegetation and urban structures. There’s also a small terrain, an oil platform, which is great for smaller scenarios!
